1) Too many bike crashes to list, but I think my life flashed before me a few times, including a couple of tangles with vehicles. It's always the vehicles that are the most frightening, and I am only too aware of the fact that a car driver can become a killer in a split second. If you drive a car, take note.
2) Nearly trodden on a few snakes in Australia, and picked peppers in the cane fields which are infested with the evil Taipan/King Brown. Only saw one very big one though, thank God I was on the back of the pickup and not on foot!
3) Woken up in a tent to find a red-back spider tickling my armpit! Horrible! Luckily it didn't bite.
4) Slept in a tent by the river in Kakadoo, Austrlaia, yards from man eating crocs (what a fool)!
5) Swam with reef sharks and all kinds of other wierd marine stuff on the barrier reef (6ft shark 6ft away), and swam with freshwater crocodiles in Katherine Gorge, Austraila.
6) Plenty of dicey motoring moments. Passenger in a couple of close shaves where cars were written off. Horrible.
7) Been randomly attacked as a 17 year old and ended up with some lunatic swinging round my neck trying to pull my face down on a rusty 6 inch railing spike!
8) 125 Motorbike madness (stupid 80-90mph round lanes). Crazy. Never again! Don't do it!
9) On the road in Australia I picked up psychopath, allegedly called Jim, who bragged about the fact he'd just been in prison for caving somones head in with a hammer and battering girlfriends! (Sends shivers down my spine even now). I also experienced a drunk, crazed vietnam veteran battering the hell out of a phonebox, whilst I was in it! Australia can be disturbingly wild in some places!
10) Head injuries. Severe concussion is no joke, it is a brain injury! Something I have experienced twice. Once when I was knocked off my bike, flew ov er the car and hit the deck head first, the other, which was actually worse and scarier was snowboarding and screwing up my memory. If you too like going psychoticly fast, and doing dangerous stuff, wear a helmet. Next time you hit it could be the last.
11) Realising that I'm not 21 anymore! :o( Oh well, better make the most of it and get out on that bike!
